The Bob Catio is named in honor of Bob Sallinger who was the longtime Conservation Director at Bird Alliance of Oregon (formerly Portland Audubon) and was the visionary who brought Portland cat and bird organizations together to help create a safer urban landscape for cats and local wildlife. His work included co-founding the Cats Safe at Home partnership between the Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon and the Bird Alliance of Oregon. This partnership created the annual Catio Tour that has inspired hundreds to add a catio to their space and motivated thousands to learn more about how they can protect cats and birds.
